The history of The Wolf Organization reads like a classic American success story. Founded in 1843, Adam Wolf started his enterprise with one store selling lumber and a few dry goods on the banks of the Susquehanna River in rural Pennsylvania.
Riding the wave of American prosperity, tempered with the frugality of the era and mixed with a healthy portion of good old-fashioned business sense, Wolf soon developed his business into a family heirloom, passing it from generation to generation.
Each family member, applying the new advances of the day, strengthened and grew the business into a hallmark of innovation and service in the building materials industry. That innovation allowed one store to mature into a $300 million enterprise with three operating divisions stretching from New England to Georgia.
Today, the business rests in the hands of a select team of employee-owners guided by the sixth generation of Wolf family members and outside investment firm, Westin Presidio. This dynamic group of leaders is assembled and prepared to continue the legacy of growth for their 600 plus employees.
Honesty and customer satisfaction, principles on which the company was founded, continue to be the cornerstone of Wolf's business, contributing to the organization's status as one of the East Coast's premier distributors of quality building products.
The company continues to embrace new business technology and performance-enhancing quality systems in their pursuit of total customer satisfaction.
From its storybook past to its innovative present, The Wolf Organization remains strong and optimistic about the people, products and the strength of the American building industry. |
